Keb Mo
Given Name: Kevin Moore
Born: Oct. 3, 1951 Los Angeles, CA
Hit Songs: "Just Like You", "Am I Wrong", "The Door"
I saw the unpretentious, unassuming, good-natured Kevin Moore and his stellar band at the Pier in Seattle July 3, 2004.
Every single one of them had a twinkle in their eyes. Their presentation was loving, appreciative, energetic, multitalented...it took me places, altered my state of consciousness, made me dance, brought tears to my eyes.
I am truly in awe of the consistently woven themes of love, loyalty, compassion, and the half-smile irony of the human condition...and the clever jabs at the ridiculous influence of our technological age on our natural existence as human beings--homosapiens...all so appropriately laid down, sometimes with poetic simplicity, other times with street-smart, no bullshit.
The words are laced through a perfect melding of guitars, bass, dobro, 'cordine, mississippi sax, percussion, keyboard, voices from the heart...a band easily working together, led by a true leader, a loving father proud to show off his boys, who has never been afraid to blaze his own trail with a style that only belongs to Keb Mo'.
I love you all very much. Thank you for lifting me above this earthly plane and letting me walk with Keb Mo', whether live or via cd. Thank you for the musical gifts, humor, and pure love that you bring to this world, starving for joy and goodness.
Baby,
keep it comin'. You've made this girl mighty happy. And I don't just keep you
to myself. I share you with everyone I know. I give everybody a taste of Keb
Mo'. Mmm mmm mmm. Gonna tell everybody I know.
